GIVE TO SAVE

Pupils At Risk of Dropping Out from School

Sponsor a Student Project by Rotary Club Metro Dasmariñas

For Php 7500, you will help a young pupil get through school for a year. This covers the pupil's transportation, food at school, and school supplies to start the school year.

Beneficiaries: Kinder to Grade 6 Pupils at-risk of dropping out from school (PARDOS) at Dasmariñas Elementary School

What does my Php 7500 do?

Your donation will help a pupil at-risk of dropping out from school (PARDOS) due to financial difficulties for a year. You will help your sponsored pupil with their transportation to and from school, have food at school, and have school supplies to start the school year.

History

Based on the data of Dasmariñas Elementary School, financial difficulties and lack of parental interest are the identified causal factors that contributed to the increase of school’s drop-out rate. The school in collaboration with the School Parent Teacher Association introduced and implemented “Barya Mo, Ikauunlad Mo” (Your Spare Change, Our Progress), an experimental project that addressed the need to support learners who are experiencing financial difficulties which led them not to participate and attend classes. Parents, students and teachers donated 25 centavo coins that supported these learners for their allowance particularly their food and transportation. There were 10 learners who benefited from this project.

Because of the success of the experimental project, this school year, the Rotary Club of Metro Dasmariñas in partnership with Dasmariñas Elementary School will be conducting the GIVE TO SAVE Pupils At Risk of Dropping Out from School project which aims to provide these pupils a year's worth of food at school, their transportation fare, and their school supplies to start the school year.

How are beneficiary pupils selected?

A screening process was done by the teachers of the school to properly select eligible pupils. This process is done so that the factors affecting the pupil's risk of dropping out can be remediated by providing financial support.

How do I donate?

The Rotary Club of Metro Dasmariñas will be collecting donations until July 23, 2024.  (Extended to July 26, 2023)

For every Php 7500 donation, you will help a pupil at-risk of dropping out from school.

This covers the pupil's transportation, food at school, and the school supplies to start the school year.

We will also accept donations under Php 7500. They will be pooled together to generate the amount needed.

Meet Anna

(Not her real name for child protection and privacy)

(image altered for child protection and privacy)

She is the youngest in the family. Her mother works in another town as a household helper. Her father works as a laborer and returns home every two weeks. Their income can barely sustain the family. Oftentimes, Anna is unable to attend classes for monetary reasons.

She is at risk of dropping out of school.
